Apple Cider Press

Apple Cider Press

We have a fruit press and grinder with a large bag of apples and some fun apple and people loving animals. Your children and adults will love throwing the apples in the grinder and squeezing the living juice out of them. It is so neat to watch and listen to the cider make its way to the pale.

This is a great project for Roshashana, the Fall and science studies of food processing and simple machines. All around fun for anyone who still loves to learn.

Project Requirements

  1. Room for a press, two different kinds of animals (dependent on what is available), and a source of water to fill a 10 gal bin.
  2. Volunteer to assist with apples getting placed into grinder.
  3. Volunteer to help with washing of apples.
  4. 1 Gallon Jug if you want to keep pressed cider, cider is not processed in anyway, therefore do not drink an excess amount, also do not drink days after the pressing as it will begin to ferment.
